Mrs. Irene Chung (Steering Committee Member)

I thank God for the opportunity I had to play a small part in CEO’s “love-in-action” ministry, especially among handicapped orphans in China. “Build, Bridge, Blossom” is truly a beautiful motto that CEO achieved through their “Family Anew” movement for foster children and their families – walking alongside them and offering long-term support whether educational, medical or spiritual.

From serving on the gala committee, attending fund-raisers including dinners and concerts, to joining “Living Room” or “Dining Room” gatherings, hosting home-parties, and participating in CEO walk-a-thons, I have enjoyed and learned so much from CEO’s “walk by faith” and their faithfulness to God. Indeed, their faith is contagious!

As a mother, I was eager to engage not only my own children but all the children at our church in a ministry that reached out to other children – so what a perfect chance CEO presented us to help disadvantaged orphans, whether through monetary donations, prayers or visits. Though I never made it for a vision trip myself, I was nonetheless absolutely inspired and convinced by CEO’s labor of love, in giving orphans fresh hope, and a future.

My family had the privilege to sponsor a boy who we named “Luke,” while our church Sunday School sponsored a girl we called “Joy.” Each month, we would share updates with the church on her development and collect love-offerings for her. We would cheer when she made progress in her academics, mobility or self-care. We would double up our prayers when she fell sick or wet her bed. Looking back on those years, I am amazed at the difference CEO has made in the lives of so many orphans like Luke and Joy, transforming them by the power of God’s love! What a legacy CEO has built. My personal faith, moreover, has been impacted over the years as I witness miracle after miracle that God works for CEO in all their multi-faceted projects, such as most recently in Hong Kong their “HI Partner” program involving social-work canines and youths-at-risk. I also cherish the sincere friendship and prayers of the Chua family for me. May God continue to touch and change lives through the faithful work of CEO!
